Quick Turkish Pide

What you need

  • Turkish bread
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 Onion large
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 500 gm lamb Finely minced
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 200g chopped tomato
  • 2 diced capsicum
  • Bunch of spinach, roughly chopped
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh chopped mint
  • 1-2 eggs, whisked
  • Grated cheese
  • 100g feta
  • Sundried tomatoes
  • 2 tsps zatar

How it’s done

Heat oven to 200 degrees

Slice turkish bread lengthwise

Cook onions and garlic in oil until soft

Add lamb and cook for 4 minutes

Add cumin, coriander, cunnamon, garam masala, chilli, salt, pepper and cook until lamb is browned

Add tomato, capsicum and spinach, cook for 5 minutes

Add lemon and mint and turn off heat

Spread whisked egg over bread. Top with lamb mix, cheese, feta, sundried tomato, zatar.

Cook in oven for 15 minutes
