Preheat oven to 180°C
Cook onion, garlic and mushrooms for a few minutes
Add meat and cook until browned
Add all other ingredients and cook for about 15 minutes.
Melt butter in saucepan
Stir in flour and cook gently for a minute or two (no more), stirring frequently
Gradually add the milk, stirring all the time, until sauce begins to boil and then thickens.
Add grated cheese and stir
Place alternating layers of noodles, meat sauce and cheese sauce in the lasagne dish starting with meat sauce (if using instant noodles), then noodles, then meat sauce again, then cheese sauce, then noodles, meat sauce, cheese sauce, noodles
Finish with a layer of cheese sauce and sprinkle the top with the parmesan cheese.
Bake in moderate oven for about 30 - 35 minutes
Pour cream over the top and bake for a further 5 – 10 minutes
