Glazed Meatloaf

What you need

Glaze

  • 1/3 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

The Loaf

  • 1kg mince beef
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pepper
  • Large pinch mixed herbs (thyme, rosemary, basil, oregano, sage)
  • 1 medium brown onion
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 185g evaporated milk

How it’s done

Glaze

Combine all ingredients and set aside. Simples.

Loaf

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C

Mix all ingredients and transfer to a loaf tin. Place foil lined lamington pan (31x21cm) over loaf tin and invert (leaving loaf tin upside down on lamington pan

Bake for 15 minutes

Remove from oven and lift loaf tin carefully. Pour glaze over meatloaf and spread evenly with knife.

Reduce oven temperature to 180 degrees C and return loaf to oven for approx 1 hour and 45 minutes
